Devil's Claw has been widely used as a herbal medicine to treat acute and chronic inflammation. It is especially useful for musculoskeletal problems and for reducing inflammation in joints. Adding Devil's Claw as a horse feed supplement to a senior pet feed can help alleviate the general stiffness that often occurs as a horse or pony ages. Sometimes natural devil's claw can be as effective as the drugs and injections prescribed to treat equine arthritis.

A laboratory in France has obtained results that show a 78% reduction in pain with Devil's Claw. It has been shown to be an effective substitute for phenylbutazone ("Bute") and cortisone - with the added benefit of eliminating the side effects of these equine medicines.

Devil's Claw is recommended for horses and ponies suffering from joint and muscle problems, and is also used to treat the horse's degenerative bone disease. Devil's Claw is especially helpful in providing pain relief.

Devil's Claw has calming, digestive, and diuretic properties. Suitable for use with chasteberry to relieve pain in mares. Monk's pepper aligns the hormonal activity and the devil's claw releases tension in the pelvic floor muscles.
